YNPNdc Board Member Dan Poux will lead participants through a series of exercises to hone skills in the following areas:

• Pre-Interview Preparation
• Engagement during the Interview
• Post-Interview Follow-Up
• Salary & Benefits Negotiation

Participants will have the opportunity to practice techniques in small groups during the workshop, so that you will be ready for your next job interview or salary/benefits negotiation!

About the Facilitator:

Dan Poux is a member of the YNPNdc Board of Directors and former Chair of the YNPNdc Programs Committee.

By day, he is an Associate Director for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology Policy Fellowships that provide opportunities for scientists and engineers to learn about the policymaking process. Dan has developed a comprehensive evaluation to identify impacts on Fellows and host agencies, and has crafted a series of career enhancement workshops that help Fellows to make the most of this unique opportunity.

Dan received a bachelor’s degree in political psychology and a master’s degree in natural resource policy and behavior from the University of Michigan. He conducted his master's thesis research on volunteerism and mentoring.

He has previously presented workshops for YNPNdc on Managing Up, Effective Informational Interviewing, Retooling your Resume and Time Management.
